Setting up!

We settled on a Piggy theme and added a bit o "farm" to it!  I designed and made the cake myself.  I'm so proud of it!  :)  It is made out of three bundt cakes.  The tail is the candle...we just needed one...so this was perfect!  The "mud" is chocolate frosting.  I personally think making the cake was the best part. *grin

We love Usborne books at our house and "Woolly" is one of our favorite characters.  So using the corn starch packing peanuts I licked and I stuck them on a box and then drew woolly.

Getting ready is half the fun!   Here the house is all decorated and ready!  I just used "farm" stuff from the kids' books, toys etc. and placed them all over the room.  I had no idea we had so many "things".  I also picked up a bouquet of balloons...isn't the piggy cute?!

Danny turns 1!

Here's my little boy!

I can hardly believe that my baby has turned one year old. He's a "big boy" now.  Of course we had to celebrate...so we invited family over and wow! A busy, loud, fun time!

Here's what the invitation read:
The first little piggy went to the market. Doesn't he know that Amazon Fresh delivers? The second little piggy stayed home...how boring! The third little piggy had roast beef. That's a good start, but what about CAKE! The fourth little piggy had none. This could be you, if you don't read on! And the fifth little piggy? Well, he was smart, he went wee wee wee all the way to Danny's house for a fun first birthday party! You should too! We will be serving BBQ Chicken (no pork of course!) and then we will pig out on Dessert! See you Friday, October 10, 2008. (dinner begins at 6:30pm)

Camping with Friends!

Soooo....several have complained that my blog wasn't and hasn't been updated...here's my attempt at the start of summer....but blogger wasn't working and was taking waaaaaaay too long so I quit...here's the start of a blog after a great camping time.  I don't know if I'll finish it or not...we'll see...either way, we had a fab time!

We got home from Vertical Ranch, did some laundry and packed up again to go to Sean and Carol's Folk's property. Darren, Jamie and Sophia (his kids), Sean, Carol, Dakota and Marina (their kids), Bryan, Porsche and Mircea (their kid) and us hung out for the fourth of July weekend. It was a fun and relaxing time.

On the ride there, Danny amazed us with his talents...Joe was never able to do this, me neither!
Bubba and Danny
Joe went out on a boat and tried to touch the bottom of the little lake and leaned a bit too far. Kersplash! Troy fished him out. He had a hard time of walking up at the campsites due to soggy bottoms! *grin
Boys always have to be fixing something!!!
Who is this hairy monster?

Here's Danny getting ready for some chow!

Vertical Ranch

We pulled out our old Kit Companion trailer, stocked her up and cleaned her up and headed for the hills for 5 days. Gent, Elaine, Victoria and Grant invited us up to hang with them.

When we arrived here's how we found Joe. He'd just fallen into the pond and they put him into one of Grant's shirts. He loved it and refused to change into anything else!

Not sure the point of wearing rubber boots...but it sure was fun to watch Grant empty them out!

The water wasn't the clearest but it felt good.
Joe spent a lot of time climbing this rock throwing rocks and watching Grant and Victoria and then he would jump down and grab more rocks and climb back up. Danny had his own little cage area. Victoria joined him on more than one occasion. Doesn't she look great with all her new metal in her mouth?!

Janell joined in on the fun. She got to go on the first origami boat ride with the boys. Troy is taking the picture. The rest of us waited and waited and waited for Gentry to come back and get us.
Danny loved the three wheelers too!
Joe took a couple of spins with dad and Uncle Gentry. He loved climbing on it while it was parked. Vrooooom Vroooooooom ! Joe wearing Gentry's helmet. I think it fits him better. Janell joined in the fun too. Elaine set up a challenge I couldn't resist...she said it was impossible to get a good picture of her. I think this one looks great! I had a better one but she lives to close for me to post it! *grin
We ate very well...an important thing to do when camping.
Boys will be boys! Swinging WAAAAAAAAAAAY out! Bath time! Notice how similar the expressions are! *grinJoe doesn't fit in the tubs as well as Danny.
Danny loved being held by Victoria...check out his nice little spit bubble. *grin
We had a great time! Love the bathroom! You should invite yourself up!

Joe feedin' Danny

A little bit of us

Joe helped his dad shake out his drop cloths. He was very exuberant. *grin
The BOYS!
Joe riding his "Trikasol" with Danny...mom was trying to get a good shot to use as an iron on for a bike jersey for her dad. A bunch of pics were taken...none great...they never look in the same direction or smile at the same time...but this one was good enough!

The finished product...a bike jersey for my dad's BIG RIDE. We lost power for a bit and so the boys snuggled in a blanket with their dad for a while.
