Opening gifts

Danny had lots of help opening gifts.  He received some really neat things.  Joe is loving all the presents too!  He says, "I love ferthdays!"  He knows his is in January, but he doesn't know what a January is.  *grin  Some of the gifts included: a "tool set", a constellation turtle night light, trike, apron, book, clothes, truck w/ motorcycles. What a lucky boy!
Mircea and Casper wanted to buy Danny a black suit with a silver vest to wear to meeting and to his Aunt Jennifer's wedding in January...unfortunately the suit wasn't available so Mircea got to work and fingerpainted him one. How cool!

Good thing the truck came with two motorcycles!
Thank you everyone! We had a delightful time! The only downer was we invited too many piggies and didn't have very many left overs! *grin

Singing the song and Carving the piggy!

Troy called his folks, so Grandpa and Grandma B. could join in on singing "Happy Birthday" to Danny!

Here's the three little piggies! :)  Danny likes to "hog" the bed...so we call him our bed piggy!
Danny enjoyed about half of his party.  *grin  The other half was a bit tramatic!  He wasn't quite sure what was going on and whether he should be enjoying it or not.  There were quite a few tears.

Got the butcher's knife ready!

Lots of helpers!  It's amazing how they all appear when they hear the word "cake"!

Danny and the "snout." He ate it with a spoon!

Setting up!

We settled on a Piggy theme and added a bit o "farm" to it!  I designed and made the cake myself.  I'm so proud of it!  :)  It is made out of three bundt cakes.  The tail is the candle...we just needed one...so this was perfect!  The "mud" is chocolate frosting.  I personally think making the cake was the best part. *grin

We love Usborne books at our house and "Woolly" is one of our favorite characters.  So using the corn starch packing peanuts I licked and I stuck them on a box and then drew woolly.

Getting ready is half the fun!   Here the house is all decorated and ready!  I just used "farm" stuff from the kids' books, toys etc. and placed them all over the room.  I had no idea we had so many "things".  I also picked up a bouquet of balloons...isn't the piggy cute?!

Danny turns 1!

Here's my little boy!

I can hardly believe that my baby has turned one year old. He's a "big boy" now.  Of course we had to celebrate...so we invited family over and wow! A busy, loud, fun time!

Here's what the invitation read:
The first little piggy went to the market. Doesn't he know that Amazon Fresh delivers? The second little piggy stayed home...how boring! The third little piggy had roast beef. That's a good start, but what about CAKE! The fourth little piggy had none. This could be you, if you don't read on! And the fifth little piggy? Well, he was smart, he went wee wee wee all the way to Danny's house for a fun first birthday party! You should too! We will be serving BBQ Chicken (no pork of course!) and then we will pig out on Dessert! See you Friday, October 10, 2008. (dinner begins at 6:30pm)
